The Sacrament of Confirmation instills the same fullness of the Spirit that the disciples received on Pentecost. It perfects in us what was begun in Baptism. It deepens our bond with the Holy Trinity and strengthens our bond with the Church.

Through Confirmation, we are empowered to assume an active role in the work of Jesus by witnessing to and spreading the faith. Such an awesome undertaking requires discernment and preparation. As such, youth who are entering the ninth grade or above may begin the preparation process in the fall of each year.

Preparation for Confirmation

Youth, 8th Grade and Above

Young people entering the 8th Grade or above are eligible to prepare for this sacrament. All Confirmation candidates are required to attend confirmation preparation classes, youth group meetings and a scheduled full day retreat, as well as participate in service activities (i.e., to volunteer at youth mass). Regular mass attendance by the candidate and his/her family is expected. The preparation process culminates in the celebration of the sacrament in the Easter season as scheduled by the Bishop.
