Microtransit

Too many citizens of Lexington are living in transportation deserts and do not have access to LEXTRAN or other means of transportation. This affects their ability to get to work, access medical care, and to combat the poverty that living in these transportation deserts entails. We need your power to secure the 1.2 million dollars needed to fund a MicroTransit Pilot Program. Allowing people living in these transportation deserts to access point-to point, on demand, transportation at mass transit prices.

Villages

Many of Lexington’s elderly do not have access to the resources and information they need to age gracefully in place. BUILD has secured a $50K grant to create a virtual “Village” in the Beaumont-Gardenside-Headley Green HOA area that will bring the elderly together with volunteers and other service providers to create a true neighborhood social hub where the elderly can find what they need to age in place. We need your power to continue growing the “Village” program – so all the elderly of Lexington will be served.

Affordable Housing

Too many renters in Lexington are stuck living in unsafe housing because landlords face few real consequences, and our code enforcement system doesn’t have the strong tools needed to hold bad actors accountable. We need your power to create rental registries, the right to counsel for renters, and stronger code enforcement. Helping people obtain the safe and healthy housing they need.
