How
to Become a Parishioner.
Just call or e-mail
the office. We will need to know your
name, address, and how many members
are in your family. We will mail you
the necessary forms to complete.
You
may also print the registration packet
here
in pdf format, complete them, and mail
them to us. You will need to print and
complete a member form for each member
in the family.
Once
you are registered, you will start receiving
offering envelopes, parish mailings,
and our diocesan newspaper, CrossRoads.
Please let us know if you do NOT want
to receive envelopes or the newspaper.
If
you are leaving a parish in Lexington
to join ours, please notify them so
that they may make your file with them
inactive. They will also cancel the
envelopes and newspaper you may be receiving
through them.
Welcome
to St. Peter's!
Baptism

necessary for parents to attend an instructional
session on Baptism prior to celebration
of the sacrament for their child(ren).
Learn more about
it.
Bulletins/Flyers/Fundraising.
Our Sunday bulletin is created in the
parish office and then sent to our printing
company, Diocesan Publications, in Columbus,
OH. To meet their printing deadline,
we need to have any items for the bulletin
by Thursday, 10 days before the date
of the bulletin. Part of this submission
deadline includes getting permission
from the pastor to include your item
if needed.
Requests
for placing an item in the bulletin
may be mailed, faxed (252-1853), or
e-mailed to us at stpeter@cdlex.org,
or dropped by the office during office
hours.
The
deadline for submitting flyers is the
same as for bulletins. All flyers, whether
placed in every bulletin or in the church
entrances, must be approved by our pastor.
This also applies to all other printed
materials.
If
you are homebound or know someone who
is, please let us know, and we will
be glad to mail out a weekly bulletin.
To
read more about our bulletins, or to
view recent bulletins, please click
here.
The
parish policy for fundraising by groups
outside the parish asks that requests
be reviewed by the Parish Council. Groups
are to call the parish office to ask
that their request put on the Parish
Council’s agenda for their monthly meeting.

Funerals.
To notify us of a death in your family,
please call the parish office when open,
or the pastor after hours at (859) 509-7687.
At this time of sorrow, we will be there
for you to coordinate arrangements with
the funeral home, or give whatever assistance
you need from us.
As
Christians, we do not grieve like others.
We have hope and console
one another. We want to become an instrument
of Christ’s comfort to those who mourn.
As
your parish, we see our role to you
in these difficult time in these words:
“...the Lord has anointed me to bind
up the brokenhearted, to comfort all
who mourn, and provide for those who
grieve...to bestow on them a crown of
beauty instead of ashes, the oil of
gladness instead of mourning, and a
garment of praise instead of a spirit
of despair...”. (Isaiah 61:1-3)
The
arrangement of funeral services are
made through the pastor. Please contact
parish office for more information.
A
further outreach to those who mourn
is our annual All Souls’ Mass on November
2. Invitations are sent to families
who lost a loved one in the last year,
asking them to attend the Mass and participate
in this beautiful and moving liturgy.
You
may pre-plan your funeral service with
us. This would include your choice of
presider, readings, music, and participation
of family members. Your completed pre-planning
form is then kept on file in the office.
Church
Bulletin Boards. We have
3 bulletin boards; one is in the campanile
(bell tower) entrance and another in
the vestibule (front entrance). These
display parish and diocesan materials.
Permission is required from the parish
office and/or pastor to have an item
placed there.
Our
third bulletin board is also in the
vestibule and is especially dedicated
to our parishioners serving in the armed
forces. Please keep them in your prayers.
If you would like to have your loved
one's name and photo on our bulletin,
just call the parish office.

Prayer
Request Ministry (Ponticuli).
Our parish has a group of dedicated
members who belong to our Prayer Request
Ministry called the Ponticuli - "Little
Bridges".
They
are named St. Peter's Ponticuli to suggest
how both praying for others and requesting
prayers of others create bridges and
sustains relationships with each other
and with God.
The
Prayer Request Ministry lifts up specific
requests, concerns, emergency situations,
prayers of thanksgiving, etc., to God
in prayer. To make a prayer request
or to become a member of the prayer
ministry: 1) contact Scott Hunt at either
scott.hunt@eku.edu
or (859) 373-0543; or 2) complete and
return a form located by the Sacred
Heart of Jesus statue, Blessed Virgin
Mary statue, the campanile, or the Barr
Street entrance; or 3) click here
to
open a volunteer form in pdf format
which you can then print, complete,
and mail
to the parish office.

E-mail address, marital status, and/or

are more than welcome to E-mail these
changes to us at stpeter@cdlex.org.

Stewardship
& Our Financial Health.
Genesis tells us that God placed the
first human being in the garden to practice
stewardship there, "to work in and take
care of it." (Genesis 2:15) Our parish
community is our garden where we worship
together and share our wonderful faith
history.
In our garden, there are many diverse
opportunities: planting seeds; tending,
pruning, and even adding new perennials;
stepping in when other stewards have
traveled on; and supporting the efforts
of others through your finances, special
talents, and gifts of time.
The
work in our parish garden can never
be truly complete without your help.
When everyone comes together to create
His beautiful garden, we show what He
can do through us when we each find
and fill our place.
Listen
to your heart in prayer to hear what
treasured part of the garden God is
calling you to cherish and grow. You
may also check out our volunteering
section below. God will never summon
you to a service you are incapable of
performing. And your stewardship will
be joyful and blessed!

you are interested in the financial
status of the parish, please click here

in pdf format.
Volunteering.
If you would like to volunteer at St.
Peter's, just call the parish office
and we will be glad to send you a list
of our ministries if you have not
already chosen one. Your active participation
in parish life is a treasure for both
you and the parish. You can also look
here
for more information about volunteering.
If
your particular question or concern
is not answered here, please feel free
to call us at (859) 252-7551.
